Senate Scraps 1099 Reporting Requirement
The 1099 provision of ObamaCare, scheduled to begin in 2012, was intended to help the IRS generate an additonal $17 billion in uncollected taxes. The provision required that businesses report to the IRS annual purchases from any contractor above $600. The provision targeted 40 million businesses and others such as churches, charitable groups.
