EPA RRP Next Step Looking for Commercial Painting Contractors
The next step in the EPA's expansion of the RRP rules for Exteriors of Public and Commercial Buildings mandates the formation of a Small Business Advocacy Review (SBAR) Panel to gather input from targeted small business entities, including painting contractors. Commercial Forum Member Ronald Yarbrough, President of Pro-Spec Painting, Inc. in Vineland, NJ has submitted his nomination to the EPA to be a part of the SBAR panel. As a commercial and industrial contractor who completes Lead Abatement services, Ron would bring considerable background and value as a member of the Advocacy Panel. This SBAR is required under the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Act - SBREFA. The last time PDCA Members were involved in a SBREFA related panel was in 2000 and 2001 and included PDCA Past Presidents Paul Corey and Brandt Domas who provided their time to EPA who was at that time working on the early version of what has become today's RRP Rule.
If you are interested in submitting your name for nomination, the deadline is Friday, December 3rd. Complete information is available here on the EPA website.
