On May 27, 2010 Tulsa World - World Washington Bureau Columnist Jim Myers reported that the U.S. Senate had passed legislation to block fines associated with the recently enacted EPA Lead RRP rule - on a temporary basis.  Senator Susan Collins or Maine sponsored the proposal which was attached to a fundamental spending bill.  The Senate passed the spending bill which is now headed to the U.S. House of Representatives.  Myers related that Senator Collins  accused the EPA of botching the implementation of the RRP rule that took effect April 22, 2010.  The intent of the action is to provide contractors more time to comply with the law.  Read Jim Myers Tulsa World article.
